How To Cook Mongolian Beef

It Takes 32 minutes (20 minutes marinate time, 12 minutes cook time)

Sweet, savory, and salty in all the right ways, Mongolian beef is a meal my family is always happy to eat. You’ll need to get a pound of beef sirloin, and slice in thin, against the grain, before marinating it in fish sauce, soy sauce, and sesame oil for 20 minutes. Brown together with garlic, and then season the sauce with a little chili powder, lime juice, and ginger! So easy!

Ingredients:

1 pound thin-sliced beef sirloin

1 tablespoon fish sauce

¼ cup low-sodium soy sauce

1 teaspoon sesame oil

1 tablespoon extra-virgin olive oil

4 minced garlic cloves

½ tablespoon chili powder

1 tablespoon lime juice 1 teaspoon ground ginger

Instructions:

  1. In a bowl, mix beef with fish sauce, soy sauce, and sesame oil.
  2. Stick in the fridge, covered, for 20 minutes to marinate.
  3. When ready, heat ½ tablespoon of the olive oil in a skillet.
  4. Add beef and garlic to brown.
  5. When the beef is brown, plate.
  6. Add the rest of the olive oil, and other ingredients into the skillet.
  7. Cook for a few minutes, just to blend the flavors.
  8. Return meat to the pan, turning to coat in the sauce.
  9. Serve!
